FAQs

Admissions FAQs

What are the steps of the admissions process?

The first step is verifying insurance. The second step is verifying the payment method. After verifying insurance, we do a medical prescreen over the phone that is about 30 questions and can take up to 30-45 minutes. After completing the medical prescreen, our medical professional looks over the prescreen and decides if we are the right fit for the individual’s treatment needs. If we move forward with the client, we set up a payment plan and take payment over the phone. Once this is finalized, we can save a bed for an individual and set up a time for admission.

Does American Detox and Treatment accept insurance?

Yes, American Detox and Treatment Center accepts all major commercial insurances. At this time we do not accept  Medicare or Medicaid.

Is American Detox and Treatment accredited?

Yes, American Detox and Treatment Center is Joint Commission Accredited.

How is American Detox and Treatment different from other programs?

Most medical detoxes are in a medical/hospital setting. We are not that, we are designed and set up in a more intimate/homestyle setting with mostly private rooms and more individualized treatment.  We sit on multiple acres with outside access anytime. We have a full gym with workout machines and equipment.

What if my loved one is not ready for treatment but needs it?

Our admissions coordinators are trained on helping the family/significant others hold boundaries, as well as they are trained to know the community in case we need another connection in the industry to bridge the gap.

What happens if I need transportation assistance getting to treatment?

We have medical technicians to provide transportation within a certain limit, or we can utilize UberHealth.

FAQs

Clinical FAQs

What therapies do you provide?

We provide group therapy and individual therapy. We utilize many different modalities for not only individual therapy, but group therapy as well.

How often do clients attend therapy?

Clients can attend up to 6 individual sessions weekly. Clients can attend up to 27 group therapy sessions weekly. Clients can attend up to one family session a week on a case-by-case basis.

What aftercare programs do you provide?

We do not have any continuing programs, but we do have a discharge coordinator to set a client up for another program (one that is a suitable level of care and works with their insurance) prior to them leaving us.

How long can I expect to be in treatment?

Depending on if the individual is only doing detox with us and then going to a different program, that individual will only be with us for 7-10 days. If that client is already detoxed and stable and wants to come to us for our inpatient residential treatment program, they should expect a 30-day stay. If the client wants to be with us for both detox and residential, they should expect to be with us from 37-45 days.

How will families participate in treatment?

We allow individuals to make phone calls out at appropriate times to loved ones and family members to keep them updated and in the loop – always with a counselor. We also on a case-by-case basis can accommodate family therapy via Zoom if appropriate.

We cannot take clients out on outings such as ice cream but, we do nature walks inside our fenced-in area, horticulture prepping, gardening, art therapy outside, group and individuals outside, basketball court outside, volleyball outside, cornhole outside, plenty of room and activities to make it feel like clients are outside of a treatment center.

Will I have a roommate?

Most of our rooms are private rooms, only 5 rooms are double rooms meaning 10 people will be sharing a room at a time if we are at capacity. 14 of our rooms are private rooms.

Can I smoke?

Yes, smoking is allowed and we have an outdoor smoking area. Lighters are not needed and will be provided for you. We ask you to bring any nicotine products unopened. If you think you may run out and need more, we encourage you to bring cash or a debit card – we will make an accommodation once a week to obtain nicotine products for clients.

Can I bring my prescriptions with me?

Yes, we ask that you bring all prescribed medications taken on a daily basis brought in original bottles.

Can I use my phone or laptop?

We do a 7-day blackout period while in detox (meaning no phone calls out). When you first arrive for your intake, we take all electronic devices and put them away safely. We do not allow any electronic devices that have access to the internet. If you need to get on your phone to pay a bill or find a lawyer’s number, we will make an accommodation. We allow clients to make phone calls out once or twice a week with their counselor once they have transitioned out of a detox program. If a client is transitioning to another program after detox, our counselors will not only get them on the phone with the other program to make sure everything is approved, but will also incorporate the family into those calls so they are updated prior to their transition.
