Paying for Treatment

The Importance of Using Your BCBS Insurance Plan to Cover Addiction Treatment

For many people, drug and alcohol rehab is inaccessible without health insurance coverage, costing up to thousands of dollars per week. This can get expensive quickly, as most people stay in detox for around one week and in inpatient rehab for at least one month. However, addiction treatment is crucial for those experiencing substance use disorders, leading to a range of positive outcomes.  Using your BCBS health insurance plan to cover the cost of detox and addiction treatment matters. At American Detox, we firmly believe that finances should never be a barrier to getting the highest quality of care possible. American Detox accepts all major forms of insurance, including BCBS plans, to make it possible for individuals and families to cover the cost of our detox and addiction treatment services.  To verify your health insurance for inpatient detox and rehab services at American Detox, please call our admissions line or use the verify insurance page on our website. The insurance verification process at American Detox should take a few minutes or less. Our team is here to help you navigate insurance claims and benefits so that you can focus on yourself, your health, and your healing.

Detox Center

Drug and alcohol withdrawals can be mild, moderate, or severe. In some cases, getting off of substances like alcohol cold turkey in an unsupervised environment has the potential to be fatal, leading to possible complications like delirium tremens (DT). Other possible withdrawal symptoms include but aren’t limited to insomnia, shaking, sweating, nausea, vomiting, agitation, irritability, and increased anxiety or depression symptoms.

American Detox has a highly regarded drug and alcohol detox program, which offers around-the-clock monitoring, medications for withdrawal symptoms, and support from staff members during the challenging and early phase of recovery that is the acute (initial) withdrawal process.

The purpose of detox is to help you get through the acute withdrawal stage and reach physical stability. Once you are done with our detox program, it is highly recommended that you transfer to our inpatient program, where you will receive intensive therapy for addiction.

Inpatient Rehab

Our inpatient rehab program in South Carolina provides evidence-based treatment for drug and alcohol addiction. As a client in inpatient rehab at American Detox, you’ll participate in group therapy, individual therapy sessions, and activities like art therapy, nature walks, and guest speaker events. Family therapy sessions are available over Zoom.

Since inpatient rehab requires living on-site, you will have distance from triggers while attending the inpatient rehab program at American Detox. This will allow you to learn new coping skills and solidify healthy, sober routines before you go home.

Unlike the typical hospital environment you may expect during an inpatient program, our facility is home-like, with comfortable beds and living accommodations for clients. On-site amenities at American Detox include but aren’t limited to exercise equipment, games, and fresh, nutritious meals.

Specialized Programs

Everyone recovering from drug and alcohol addiction has a unique story. American Detox offers specialized programs for various groups who may have specific recovery needs, such as our first responders drug rehab program and veterans drug rehab program. These specialized programs are part of our commitment to providing person-centered, tailored support for BCBS policyholders and other individuals we serve.

Discharge Planning

Discharge planning is an important part of our inpatient rehab program. Before you leave American Detox, we’ll help you plan for your next steps. Our team can refer you to an outpatient program covered by BCBS, help you find sober housing in your preferred area, support you with job and education planning, or assist you with anything else that would be valuable for you.
