What to Expect

What We Offer

Our drug rehab in Columbia, SC, is predicated on creating a home-like space where clients can feel comfortable, with access to things like private or semi-private rooms, private bathrooms, flatscreen televisions with connection to client Spotify or streaming services, and access to our grounds for outdoor activities.

During the day, our programs provide up to 40 hours per week of:

  • Individual counseling
  • Group counseling
  • Next step preparation
  • Comprehensive discharge planning

When you first reach out to our admissions team, our medical and clinical team will work with you to conduct a thorough assessment and create an individualized treatment plan that best meets your needs. Within that plan will be the best type of therapy on an individual and group basis, as well as the type of education and life skills that can set you up for long-term sobriety.

That team will continue to work with you to ensure that your needs are being met, that your program is working for you and that the length of your stay is best suited to your progress.

Special Programs

With American Detox and Treatment, our drug rehab in Columbia, SC, offers several specialized programs.

Our facility began as a treatment center specifically for military veterans, and today, we continue to offer separate treatment pathways for military veterans and first responders. These programs are grounded in trauma-informed care, with a treatment track that focuses on avoiding retraumatization and helping individuals cope with things like PTSD and triggers related to their experiences.

While our detox and residential inpatient programs are available to anyone, those who struggle with addiction as a result of their job, enlistment, or culture can participate in our Native American treatment programs or treatment pathways for veterans and first responders.

Continuing Support

Next Steps and Long-Term Success

With American Detox and Treatment, we know that clients need help long after completing a 30-day inpatient program. Recovery is a lifelong achievement, and that means clients need lifelong support.

To help with that, we provide discharge coordinators who work with each client to make sure they know things like:

  • Where the local NA, AA, or SMART meetings are held in and around Columbia
  • Where they can find outpatient programs
  • Where they can connect with sober living facilities

Our goal is to make sure that each client has a comprehensive aftercare program that is tailored to their needs and their circumstances, with referrals to ongoing programs where necessary and resources that support continued sobriety.

Research indicates that the more an individual participates in things like 12-step programs or other support group meetings after completing an inpatient program, the more likely they are to maintain their sobriety and prevent a relapse within the first year.

FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

How is inpatient different from outpatient?

Inpatient treatment gives you the opportunity to step away from all of the triggers and stresses of your daily life so that you can focus entirely on your recovery. With our 24-bed facility, we provide individual therapy as well as trauma-informed, separate therapy programs for veterans and First Responders. Our goal is to create a facility that feels like home with things like a fitness center, outdoor basketball, a recreation area with a pool, and mostly private rooms while still giving you the help you need.

Are meals provided with inpatient care?

Yes. At our center, all of your meals are provided for you as part of the cost of inpatient care. We can accommodate dietary restrictions, and in addition to your three scheduled meals per day, you’ll also have access to snacks and food 24 hours per day.

How much is inpatient rehab?

We work with all major insurance providers to ensure our clients get top-tier help, no matter their financial situation. When you reach out to our admissions team, we will help you navigate your insurance benefits so that you can focus on your recovery.

Can I skip detox?

Detox is an essential step in all recovery programs. We provide our Detox Services at the same facility as our Residential Care, making it easy to transition from one level to the next. Our detox programs are typically 7 days in length, followed by a 30-day inpatient plan.

What activities do you offer?

We provide nature walks across our three-acre, fenced-in property, and other engaging activities like:

  • Guest speaker events
  • Art therapy
  • Bonfires

While we don’t have outside outings, the on-campus activities we provide give each of our clients an opportunity for community building, relaxation, and reflection.
