What Sets Us Apart

Special Considerations for First Responders in Treatment

At American Detox and Treatment (ADTC), we understand the unique challenges faced by First Responders and are committed to providing specialized care tailored to their needs. One of our key focuses is on trauma-informed care, which acknowledges and addresses the specific traumas experienced by First Responders during their duties. Our therapy approaches are designed to be sensitive to these experiences, utilizing evidence-based techniques to facilitate healing and resilience.

We pride ourselves on our staff's real-life experience, as many team members are in recovery themselves. This firsthand understanding creates a relatable and empathetic environment where clients feel understood and supported throughout their journey to recovery. By combining trauma-informed care with personal empathy and experience, we strive to empower First Responders to overcome challenges, heal from trauma, and achieve lasting sobriety and well-being. At ADTC, we are dedicated to providing a compassionate and effective treatment approach that honors the sacrifices and resilience of those in critical emergency response roles.

Through our trauma-informed, specialized approach, we aim to empower First Responders to reclaim their lives, heal from past experiences, and thrive both personally and professionally. At ADTC, we honor the sacrifices made by those in critical emergency response roles by providing compassionate, effective, and individualized treatment tailored to their unique needs. Here's a detailed look at our approach:

Trauma-Informed Care

First Responders often encounter high-stress, potentially traumatic situations in their line of duty. Recognizing this, our program integrates trauma-informed care into every aspect of treatment. This means:

  • Safety and Trust: Creating a safe and supportive environment where clients feel secure and respected, crucial for healing from trauma.
  • Understanding Triggers: Educating staff to recognize triggers and responses related to trauma, enabling them to respond appropriately and with empathy.
  • Empowerment: Fostering a sense of empowerment by giving clients choice and control over their treatment whenever possible.
  • Holistic Healing: Addressing trauma not just as an isolated event but as a factor influencing overall health and recovery.

Specialized Staff For First Responders' Treatment

Our team is comprised of professionals with specialized training and experience in treating first responders. This includes:

  • Clinical Expertise: Therapists and counselors skilled in trauma-focused therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and other evidence-based modalities.
  • Understanding Stressors: Staff members who grasp the unique stressors and challenges faced by First Responders, such as exposure to violence, loss, and constant pressure.
  • Cultural Sensitivity: Awareness of the culture and norms within emergency response professions, ensuring treatment aligns with clients’ experiences and identities.

Compassionate and Effective Treatment

Our commitment to First Responders extends beyond clinical approaches. We strive to:

  • Build Resilience: Equipping clients with coping strategies and resilience-building skills to navigate high-stress environments and prevent relapse.
  • Support Professional Growth: Recognizing the importance of maintaining sobriety and mental wellness within demanding professions, we offer tools and resources tailored to professional development.
  • Holistic Well-being: Emphasizing overall well-being by promoting physical health, emotional balance, and social connection.

Personalized Approach

At ADTC, each client’s journey is unique. We prioritize:

  • Individualized Treatment Plans: Crafting personalized treatment plans that address each client’s specific needs, goals, and challenges.
  • Continuum of Care: Offering ongoing support and aftercare planning to ensure sustained recovery beyond the treatment program.
  • Client-Centered Care: Putting clients at the center of their recovery journey, empowering them to make informed decisions and take ownership of their health and well-being.
What We Offer

Therapy and Counseling For First Responders

At American Detox and Treatment (ADTC), therapy and counseling play a central role in our comprehensive treatment approach. As clients transition into residential care, they benefit from dedicated one-on-one counseling sessions designed to address personal needs and goals. These individual therapy sessions offer up to 6 hours of focused support per week, allowing clients to explore underlying issues, develop coping strategies, and work towards sustainable recovery.

In addition to one-on-one counseling, ADTC offers extensive group therapy sessions, totaling up to 27 hours per week. Group therapy provides a supportive environment where clients can connect with peers facing similar challenges, fostering mutual understanding, empathy, and collective healing. Facilitated by experienced therapists, these sessions cover various topics including relapse prevention, stress management, interpersonal relationships, and life skills development. Group therapy at ADTC not only enhances social connection and peer support but also reinforces key therapeutic concepts and encourages active participation in the recovery process.

Our integrated approach to therapy and counseling recognizes the importance of individualized care and community support in achieving long-term sobriety and overall well-being. By combining personalized one-on-one sessions with immersive group therapy experiences, we empower clients to address the complexities of addiction, navigate personal growth, and build a strong foundation for lasting recovery. At ADTC, we are committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based therapy that promotes healing, resilience, and positive change in the lives of our clients.

Our Program

Aftercare and Discharge Planning

At American Detox and Treatment (ADTC), our commitment to aftercare and discharge planning extends beyond the completion of the residential program. We prioritize comprehensive discharge planning to facilitate a smooth transition for our clients into the next phase of their recovery journey. Our dedicated discharge coordinator works closely with each individual to assess their needs, preferences, and progress during treatment. They collaborate with external resources and community partners to arrange suitable aftercare programs or support services tailored to the client's unique circumstances. This may include referrals to outpatient therapy, sober living arrangements, continuing education, or vocational support, ensuring that clients have the necessary tools and resources to maintain sobriety and wellness post-discharge.
